Do or Don’t, there is no try DOJ secretary Vitaliano Aguirre

Digong is like Yoda of Star Wars, for him, it’s do or don’t there is no try. It’s somehow normal for him to hire people he once worked with, he’s close with or someone he trusts because why would you actually hire a total stranger? But once you get hired by him, that doesn’t mean you’re safe from getting fired. Just because you’re his friend doesn’t mean that you can just slack off there and get paid. Ano ka sinuswerte?

One proof of this is Digong’s acceptance of DOJ Secretary Aguirre’s resignation. He is his long time fraternity brother in Lex Taleonis Fraternity, his schoolmate in San Beda but it was when he was seated as department of Justice secretary when the cases against some well-known drug lords got dismissed. This fumed not only Digong but the Filipinos.

How can those big time drug lords — who some are self confessed — got their cases dismissed? What’s disappointing is Aguirre failed to keep the credibility of DOJ during his time of leadership with such instance.

It’s just either Aguirre was asked to resign to avoid further humiliation or he resigned out of delicadeza but the only reason for these two is because he is no longer an effective DOJ secretary.

Just as I said earlier, President Duterte, he doesn’t care if you’re his friend, if you’re someone close to him. Sure, he’ll give you a chance to work as his subordinate but it’s always the “do your job or resign.”

To think, Aguirre has the capacity to plead the president to keep him in his position despite this failure but instead, he chose to resign. I never liked Aguirre; ever since he had this ear covering fight with Miriam Defensor-Santiago, but I give him my thumbs up for this move that he did.

I hope the next DOJ secretary will help the DOJ regain it’s full credibility.
