I’m not really a big fan of ice cream desserts but after trying the Cow Cow ice cream from Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, I changed my mind.
Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory have seven branches in the Philippines but the only ones I’ve visited are their Robinson’s Manila, Alabang Town Center and The Podium branch.
First, I tried their Cow Cow ice cream from Alabang Town Center. You get to choose the base ice cream from the three options given:
•Milk ice cream @ P130
•Cheese ice cream @ P150
•Mix (Milk+Cheese) @ P150.
Then you can also put some add ons to your ice cream:
•Salt&Camembert @ P50/pc.
It’s my first time so I wanted to try it all. I chose the Mix ice cream with Cheesecake and Salt & Camembert. That’s P300 all in all.
I’ve tasted so many cheese ice cream and cheesecakes so I was expecting an intense cheesy taste on my mouth but as I tried this one, I was surprised because the cheese didn’t taste so harsh on my mouth. It’s very milky. The ice cream had this cheese taste but it’s not like the conventional cheese ice creams. The cheesecake was different from the typical cheesecakes too. It has a creamy taste that’s balances its saltiness but you can still taste the cheese in it. The Salt&Camembert is a cookie with a cheese filling and just like the ice cream and cheesecake, it doesn’t taste salty.
What’s good in Cow Cow Ice cream is that you wouldn’t feel so bummed about having so much cheese despite that I had cheesecake and cookie in my mix ice cream because it’s taste is a well balanced mixture of milk and cheese. Hindi ka mauumay kahit puro cheese. You would actually crave for it once you try it.
After a couple of weeks, I went to Robinson’s Manila with my friends and came across the Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory stall/booth and of course, I wanted to buy some ice cream but unfortunately, not all TMCF sells the Cow Cow Ice Cream. They said the ones that sell the ice cream are the TMCF with a place at the mall.
So then, I decided to just buy a cheesecake. I bought a whole Milk cheesecake from them for P950 because they don’t sell ones per slice and I’m badly craving for it so I bought it anyway.
The packaging is nice. It’s within a round wooden container and wrapped around a cheese-yellow felt paper (I’m not sure if that’s what this paper is called lol) and the cheesecake itself is held by a plastic container that perfectly grasps its shape. The cheesecake itself is so plain though. It’s just this smooth round cake.
It’s good for gift giving actually. I think this whole cheesecake can be eaten by 3-4 people. It’s just about 6 inches (15.24cm) in diameter, sold at only one size.
For everyone’s convenience, you may try visiting their branches at SM Megamall, Okada, Alabang Town Center, Robinson’s Manila, Trinoma and Evia.
