Man, I love Macao Imperial Tea

I recently just discovered this milk tea house in Lucky Chinatown Mall called “Macao Imperial Tea.” It’s at the mall’s second floor.

If you’ve been following my social media pages or you’re my friend, you should know by now how much I love milk tea. I basically live to try all milk tea brands/shops.

March 11, 2018 is when I came across Macao Imperial Tea and decided to give their beverages a try. I was actually heading to Happy Lemon but then I came across this tea house so I think it’s destiny’s work lol!

Macao Imperial Tea on Zomato

During my first visit, I tried their Creamcheese and Pearl Milk Tea for P100. They only have one size for their beverages.

Man, it’s super worth the price. This Creamcheese and Pearl Milk Tea has this distinct and unique taste but once it reaches your mouth, you’ll know it’s LEGIT milk tea. Hindi lang siya yung powdered milk tea. It’s like the classic milk tea then meron siyang creamcheese blend na parang nestle cream ang texture and it tastes milky and slightly salty like Nature salt and it balances the sweetness ng milk tea.

March 22, 2018, I came back here again to try some other beverage and I chose to try their Creamcheese Milk Tea for P120.

I really like the cup of this one. It’s actually durable, pwede siya iuwi and gamitin ulit.

The taste? It’s fine pero I still prefer the Cheesecake and Pearl Milk Tea. Ito kasing Cream Cheese Milk Tea is like Cheesecake and Pearl Milk Tea pero halo na siya, blended na siya maigi. Yung CPMT kase separated yung cream from the milk tea, itong CMT parang nablender na siya plus mas mafefeel mo yung rock salt sa drink kase may buo buo talagang rock salt.

November 2018, my heart went back to Macao Imperial Tea when I tried their Cream Cheese Uji Matcha na super sarap like it’s not milk tea pero it’s creamy and the leafy taste ng Matcha is there though medyo pricey siya, I think it’s worth the try.

Top Flavor Picks:

• Chestnut Series: Chestnut Cocoa

• Cream Cheese Series: Cream Cheese Uji Matcha

• Milk Tea Series: Cheesecake and Pearl Milk Tea

• Special Drink: Kitten Milk Tea

• Soda Series: Over the Rainbow

In summary:

Taste: 5/5

Packaging/Cup: 5/5

Price: 3.7/5 (Price went up around July 2018!)

Will go back again? Yes

Will recommend? Yes

Duterte and Robredo in Tacloban

Tuhod Misunderstanding

“Duterte does not always know the right words to say and that is why he often needs an interpreter, an explainer.”

—Patmei Ruivivar, Duterte’s Chief of Staff in Davao for 7 Years

This is something that you should understand. Filipino isn’t Duterte’s first language but bisaya, the language commonly used in Davao. He once admitted this in one of his speeches, hirap siyang mag-Filipino. As a matter of fact he actually speaks English better than Filipino. This is also the reason why he always gets misinterpreted and taken out of context.

Kung mapapansin niyo when he speaks minsan parang bitin or putol and he doesn’t even bother to continue it anymore because he thinks nagets na ng nakikinig kahit minsan mahirap talaga maintindihan.

If you would also pay attention to most of his speeches, he always share stories. Minsan paulit ulit yung mga kwento niya na parang wala namang point or connect sa issue but then if you would listen closely, you’ll understand why he’s talking about it.

One example is when he shared about his thoughts about his vice president, Leni Robredo, wearing short skirts when she was still a member of the cabinet.

Is that what he really meant? Did he share that story to tell the people to brag about the fact that he had a chance to ogle on his VP’s knees or legs? No.

Let’s move further sa speech niyang yon. He followed it by sharing that she noticed that they are distracted by the length of her skirt, she started to pull it down.

Digong jested, “ma’am mag-shorts ka nalang kaya? Bakit maiigsi igsi ka na damit?”

Of course, some might interpret it like he’s feasting over the fact that she’s wearing a short skirt and he’s being a pervert but what he really wanted was to let her know that he doesn’t like it when she wears short skirts, he doesn’t like it when the protocol officers and the eyes of the people feasts over her body, he was just being protective. He also said on another speech that VP Leni is a respectable woman, she’s someone he finds very ladylike, a lady with a Mona Lisa smile. She’s not just some eye candy, she was a lady he respects and values and he is just being this protective man to his vice president, he might just be having troubles in finding the right way to do it.

Low Key Comforting

Tacloban Leyte is one of Bongbong Marcos’ bailiwick and the fact that he is present on that event at the same time with VP Leni, siya ang magmumukang bida but President Duterte didn’t let that happen. He made a way to make him and VP Leni a highlight dimming Bongbong Marcos and whatever tension is gonna happen between him and Leni.

During his speech, he kept mentioning VP Leni. Teasing her and low key confessing his deep admiration of her in a pure way. Moreover, ito lang yata yung pagkakataon na nailabas niya yung mga bagay na matagal na niya gusto sabihin sakanya.

Kung saan siya (Leni) naga-punta nagapasunod sunod ako. Byuda kase, anulled man ako. (video link)” I believe this is something he’s been wanting to tell her he just don’t know how and when and when he had the chance during that time, he did. He proudly professed in front of the crowd of her rival’s bailiwick. It’s also surprising that the people there were blushing and cheering for Duterte and Robredo, it only shows that there are really a lot of people rooting for them as well. Sinong bida ngayon? Kahit balwarte yan ni Bongbong Marcos, si Leni Robredo and naging bida dito and that’s all because of Duterte’s efforts.

Tacloban

Let me also point out that Romualdez (BBM’s cousin) and BBM himself were seen blushing and smiling as Duterte professes his admiration for his vice president. Even the most serious people like Jun Evasco, Bong Go, Mark Villar, Gina Lopez and Judy Taguiwalo were giggling and blushing over Dubredo. Who’s winning here? Leni.

That’s not the only time that the president front lined and praised his vice president. He jested about looking at beautiful women when he’s mad in order to ease off his anger then he paused and turned back to look at VP Leni Robredo, “Malaman niyo ‘pag ako galit, sige lang ako magtingin ng magagandang babae. (video link)“. Cristina Romualdez was there, Yedda Kittilsvedt was there, Gina Lopez was there but he only looked at VP Leni and referred her as the only beautiful lady he’d like to see to calm him down when he’s mad. Everyone cheered, it didn’t even feel like it was BBM’s bailiwick, Dubredo overshadowed it — Duterte and Robredo together is that powerful.

Stay Here Beside Me

It was a protocol for President Duterte to walk ahead of everyone during the commencement but it was seen in the video that the president keeps looking back and holding VP Leni’s arm to keep her on his side and keep her from being left behind. She even blushed when he stopped walking and turned to wait for her to catch up. He didn’t want her to feel left out so he made an effort and defied the protocols for her.

IMG_3305.JPG

The president also assisted her in lighting up the candles. He was very accommodating to her all throughout the event despite that former senator Bongbong Marcos was there. There was also an instance when VP Leni said it was fine if she’ll walk behind him as it is the protocol but President Duterte insisted that they walk side by side, it was seen that VP Leni appreciated his gestures.

Jealous President, Jealous Duterte

This part of this post is somehow subjective and is based on my analyzation of President Duterte’s persona but I hope you keep reading.

Duterte is a very confident, independent man. He’s not the kind of man who would run after a person, he can stand on his own but who would have thought that someone like Leni Robredo can make this man feel insecure or jealous?

During his speech in Tacloban, he mentioned about hearing rumors about Leni having a boyfriend (video link). He asked her for confirmation live but the vice president denied and said these rumors are false, he believed her. After then he jested, “Eh kung totoo yon ma’am may mapatay na congressman na bago.” Despite that he didn’t actually mean it, you could feel his insecurity and jealousy over that unnamed person. Possessive pala ang pangulo, gusto niya sakanya lang tinutukso ang very beautiful vice president niya.

President Duterte makes women come and go in his life, he once said he doesn’t want to exert effort for women now especially that he is not getting any younger but despite these jealousy that the rumors about VP Leni gives him, he still chose to keep admiring her. It’s silly and fascinating at the same time, I don’t blame him because she’s really beautiful and knowing President Duterte, he really has a thing for ladies ages 30+ and up, very ladylike, kind and reserved — he always describe her this way, it’s something unusual because he tend to describe the women he’s attracted to in a physical manner like delicious and sexy — Leni Robredo was different, she was precious to him, she’s always at the top of his mind, she was his lady with a Mona Lisa smile, he once said.

Buti ‘yan kay (Leni) mabait, the smile of Mona Lisa‎‎,” said Duterte. ‎

If only VP Leni Robredo knows how much President Duterte values her, she would know to herself how powerful she is because she can make a Rodrigo Duterte listen and turn not just because he is fond of her but also because they share the same goal — leading this country for the better.

5 Reasons why I believe that Leni Robredo is for Duterte

Everyone knows I’m a pro-Duterte and a pro-Robredo at the same time. The ones on the right sometimes tell me they doubt that VP Leni is sincere about her support to President Duterte, the ones on the left sometimes tell me it’s only Duterte who likes VP Leni and it is impossible that VP Leni is fond of him so I decided to create this post.

Here are the five things about VP Leni Robredo that proves that she is sincerely supportive of President Duterte at work and personally fond of him behind the eyes of the mainstream. There might be some insiders here but I’ll spill it because I want you all to believe again that our president and our vice president are all for unity and even if a lot tries so hard to pit them against each other, they still have their own mind and decisions. With that said, they both choose to believe and protect each other.

1.Go to VP Leni’s office and you’ll see her Diggy bear seated beside her own self bear.

Last February 2018, I visited her office and saw Leni bear holding a heart balloon, bigay yata ni Diggy bear. Cutie.

A Commentary to Leni Robredo’s interview with Daniel Razon

I really liked the interview of VP Leni with Daniel Razon for his Get It Straight show on UNTV (video link) so I am gonna make a commentary about it here on my blog and accompany it with the screenshots of the vice president’s statements.

Communication is very important sa kahit anong relationship — working, personal, professional, kahit ano.

It’s frustrating kung bakit parang hirap na hirap ang pangulo at vice president sa aspect na ‘to but then I remembered, ang dami palang sipsip sakanila (especially to the president) as an individual so ang daming humaharang, ang daming humahadlang.

Yet then, I still hope they work out on this. If it’s necessary for them to buy separate phones where they can contact each other through it, do it. It’s for the Philippines and the Filipinos!!!

This is a fact. Don’t even argue if you’re just some irrational anti-Duterte being.

Why would you want drag the incumbent president of your state down? Because you don’t like him? I have sad news for you, you’re in a democratic country and whether you like him or not, he’s your president. So instead of dragging him down, calling him names, labelling him, why don’t you respectfully call him out if he’s doing against your principles? Why don’t you just wish him to be better? Why don’t you just pray that he’ll be able to lead our state well?

Honestly, VP Leni is spitting real words here. If you want to destabilize the president, in whatever manner, it will affect the nation, it will affect the Philippines.

Kung matanggal siya sa pwesto, kung maimpeach siya, what will happen next? Imbis na matutukan yung mas mahahalagang issues ng bansa such as poverty, malamang sa malamang karamihan mas tututok sa impeachment, some will even take advantage of the chaos making the chaos even more chaotic. No thank you.

Duterte is my president and Leni is my vice president. Period. Tapos. The end. Bye.

Don’t come at me again with that UN video. After that incident, the admin, DND Secretary Lorenzana both briefs VP Leni Robredo with regards to the output of war on drugs and the operations done by the administration. Some of you might not think about this but I believe this is how they make up for their shortcomings before in informing and responding to the vice president.

With that said, this is now VP Leni defending President Duterte. It is not the president who propagates/promotes EJK but the disappointing policemen who takes the president’s support, their power and weapons for granted.

If you also remember, it has also been one of President Duterte’s rants that corrupted police officers really give him a problem in achieving his goal of stopping the spread of drug use and securing the safety of the Filipinos. I believe they both share the same opinion of this.

Agree.

This is why amidst the destructive issues thrown against you, the president and the both of you, together, I still choose to believe in the truth that unity between Leni Robredo and Rodrigo Duterte are our hope and you two are two of the few ones in the government who sincerely cares for this country and the Filipinos.

Again, you are our hope. Work hand in hand, work together. Please don’t fail us who believes in you.

There is no perfect politician so we should support when there’s a need to support and oppose when there’s a need to oppose. One should not tolerate the wrongdoings and lost choices despite that it comes from their favorite politician or figure.

However, people should take note that it is not healthy to call out loudly in a way that it sounds like dissing and humiliating the said official. We should be sensitive, we should know how to call out in a respectful way because honestly, the official is more likely to listen with such approach. Put yourself into their shoes.

Kung may thesis kayo or group work. Who would you like to hear out? The one who yells at you with “Ang bobo mo! Wala kang kwenta. May typo ka sa abstract. Mamatay ka na, wala kang silbi. Perwisyo.” Or the one who goes, “Uy, may typo ka sa abstract. Okay lang ba i-revise mo?”

Sabi ni VP Leni na dapat cinocorrect ang mali so I’ll correct her in this.

1. PMA Grad Rites

2. PNPA Grad Rites

3. Independence Day

4. SONA

5. National Heroes Day

6. PAF Anniversary

7. AFP Change of Command Ceremonies

8. Birthday ni Fariñas

9. Rizal Day

10. Other sudden events/meetings

That’s about 9x a year mom. Nastress ako sa twice or thrice a year. Feels like forever ba? Hahaha!

Only proves you’re not the trapo kind who only works on freshening up their image. Balimbing kung balimbing, jump from LP to PDP for convenience kase malakas si President Duterte and he’s a part of PDP- Laban kaya lipat kung lipat (I know a lot who ditched LP and jumped to PDP-Laban just right after Duterte won. Lahat ng partido maganda ang mga principles but if you’ll look at the people inside it, pareho lang ring maraming trapo. Don’t also get back at me with ‘mas okay ang PDP-Laban sa LP’ dahil lang nandon si PRRD. WAG AKO.)

I’m quite sure the reason why President Duterte exempts you from all the other trapo from your party and still appreciates you is because he sees that you really have a stand, you go by your principles, the real principles of the Liberal Party — not the trapo principles.

Personally, I think Liberal Party is fine as a party. It’s just that there are people from it who sits on the higher office who acts like a trapo causing a bad reflection of the party as a whole, dragging down the good ones with them. I admit that there are people from the party that I don’t really appreciate (just wanna clarify that I don’t judge the politician by their party but their person) but then here I am appreciating VP Leni and some other people from the said party.

This is something that Duterte and Leni both practice and preach. Ito yung isang reason kung bakit mahal na mahal ko ‘tong dalawang ‘to e. May times na mas special pa yung kilos ng mga tao nila kesa sakanila to think na sila yung president and vice president.

If you get a chance to be around them, iisipin mo parang ang hirap makalapit sakanilang dalawa, ang hirap makakuha ng pagkakataon makausap sila but honestly, it’s the people around them that makes it hard kase if you’lk go directly to them, I swear to God, sobrang maappreciate niyo kung gaano sila ka-warm pareho. Both good listeners, both madaldal, both full of humor.

I really don’ t know how people can hate these two. They are both wonderful beings. Don’t let politics eat y’all, open your eyes and learn how to appreciate people and things.

My trip with the Duterte-Robredo supporters in Naga City

February 4, 2018, Sunday.

I decided to join my friends from Dubredo Army to go to Naga City to unwind myself from the stress I’ve been facing lately. Yes, we decided to go to Naga City, the hometown of our beloved Vice President Leni Robredo. The members of Dubredo Army came from different cities, has different professions, auditors, teachers, MA students, marine transportation and others so it’s really a tough charade for us to match our schedules so we had no other choice than to settle on a Sunday.

This was the time when Mayon Volcano in Albay started emitting ashes causing disturbances to the residents nearby the Volcano. Once we heard of it, we, the Dubredo core group of admins, agreed to give our own shares in order to buy face masks for the people of Albay to protect themselves from the harmful effects that the smoke might cause to their health. We would also like to thank the people who donated and entrusted Dubredo, special mention to my fellow DDS and friend, Mr. Christian Arrieta and others. We managed to gather over 1,000+ masks a week before we went to Naga buying boxes of it from Bambang in Manila where medical supplies are very rampant. We even haggled a bit to be able to purchase more quantity of it (lol!).

Goals:

  1. Unwind and have a tour in Naga City.
  2. Turn over face masks to Naga City Hall for the Albay residents.
  3. Visit the Earthquake Cafe in Robinsons Naga where Duterte Red Velvet shake and VP Leni Mango Banana shake are served.

We decided to go to Naga City instead of Albay because it’s quite unsafe during that time (Kakasimula palang mag-alburoto nung bulkan, we cannot hahaha!) After purchasing the masks, we started to feel troubled to where to turn it over once we reach Naga City, we are going there on a Sunday, we tried communicating with DSWD but then they said that the don’t have anyone to attend to us on a Sunday — no office hours. We started to worry because I’ve been busy that whole week with exams, quizzes and acads, I can’t help in finding an office to have our donations turned over until Friday night. I messaged one of my friend, N (I’d like to hide his identity with such initial for some privacy.), to ask him if he can suggest where can we turn over the donations once we arrive in Naga. He sent me the number of Ms. Laarni from the Naga City Hall.

I was so grateful so I messaged her and she said she’ll be willing to go to the office early in the morning to accommodate us as we turn over our donation because our expected arrival in Naga is around 7AM. I didn’t really know much about Ms. Laarni but I was really grateful that she was willing to go to the city hall kahit na wala naman talagang working hours every Sunday and she doesn’t really know me or our group because N just sent me her number but man, nag-effort si ma’am. Thank you talaga.

The Dubredos departed the Raymond bus terminal in Cubao around 10PM, Saturday, if I remember that right and took the 7-8 hours bus trip to Naga City. We arrived there around 6AM. It’s very seldom that I ride a bus or commute but I enjoyed this one, no wonder why VP Leni loves bus rides.

IMG_2372

We ate lugaw and some soup as we arrived in Naga City bus terminal before we went to the Naga City hall through a tricycle. It’s so cool because tricycle rides there only costs P8.00 per head! Compared here in Manila na from TIP Manila to SM Manila, P50. lol.

We had a quick chitchat with Ms. Laarni as we turn over the donations to the city hall office. I really didn’t know much about her because I don’t have a facebook account to do a background check of who she is and it surprised me to know that she is actually working at the city hall and she personally knows VP Leni, my soul mom (Duterte is my soul dad lol!).

IMG_2407

After then, she accompanied us to Jesse Robredo Museum when she knew we were planning to go there. The museum was free and most of us really look up to the late DILG secretary, Jesse Robredo so we really gave time to go around the museum. Sobrang aga namin doon, we don’t even know if the museum is already open but the guards and people there accompanied us anyway and welcomed us, they knew we were Duterte-Robredo supporters, they looked amused, I was proud. We’re for unity! Hahaha!

Screen Shot 2018-03-19 at 2.48.32 PM.png

It’s raining nung lumabas kami nung JMR museum pero go parin sa pagpapapicture. Minsan lang yan noh.

Honestly, I was really hesitant to enter the JMR museum because whenever I see Sec. Jesse Robredo, his photos and videos and all, I get the sigh of “man, I wish you’re still alive.” I have this fondness feeling for him like the fondness feeling I have for dad (Rodrigo Duterte). But then my Dubredo friends convinced me to go so I went in. As I look around, I had that sigh feeling again — as expected. It suddenly crossed my mind, what if Sec. Jesse is still alive? What is he’s the one who ran for the vice president position and won and he becomes the vice president of dad? Parang indestructible yung tandem ng President at VP non. Imagine electing people with so much devotion and love for the country and people at the highest offices in the government. Okay, I’m being dreamy now. Let’s move on.

SAP Bong Go rather than Senator Bong Go

duterte-bong-go

As a staunch Duterte supporter, the people I follow, my friends and followings fill my timeline with the idea of pushing SAP Bong Go for a senatorial position. What is my stand in this idea? I don’t support it.

Don’t get me wrong. I support President Duterte and I’ve witnessed how loyal and firm Bong Go is with him. I raise my hands up to Bong Go for that. If the president trusts and believes in him, so do I. But then, why am I not in favor of him being on the senate?

Senators are more of legislative. The commonly known function of the senators is to review the bills passed from the congress and be one of the seated senators to decide whether to have the bills passed as a law. It’s like the congress is the first filter or level and the senate is the second filter/level. The senators should have a wide span of knowledge in laws, regulations, the constitution and so many other aspects.

I am not underestimating SAP Bong Go, he graduated from De La Salle University with a management degree. I think that foundation of education and knowledge is better for an executive position (like mayors, governors) rather than a legislative position (senators, congressmen).

Remember when President Duterte once said how he prefers to be a mayor than a congressman? He once had a congress term and he admitted that legislative tasks isn’t really his forte so he went back to being a mayor. I think that applies for Bong Go as well. That’s my reason number one.

Reason number two. The president trusts and believes in Bong Go, he even appointed him as his special assistant, right? This only shows that the president needs him more than the senate does. I’ll just leave it that way.

For Press Freedom but not for Rappler

I tend to see a lot of people online showing their support for press freedom and then following it with some random statement in support with Rappler. Sure, I don’t think there is anything wrong with supporting press freedom. We don’t want another flawed type of Marcos dictatorship in the country again, do we?

SEC-RAPPLER

Some staunch supporters of president Rodrigo Duterte probably hates me right now because I support this press freedom campaign and idea but I assume they only hate the idea of it because they think it’s mainly to support Rappler after SEC sued them regarding their alleged violation of the constituitional and statutory Foreign Equity Restriction in Mass Media enforceable through rules and laws within the mandate of the Commission.
Sorry I had to copy paste that part but in a less lawyer definition, it means that a mass media such as Rappler, by the constituition, isn’t allowed to be funded by a foreign company or to give commission or owe a foreign body. The mass media should 100% be owned by a Filipino. However, according to an investigation of the SEC, (which I don’t think was detailed out on public yet) Rappler was partly owned by this foreign company called Omidyar Network leading the government body to revoke Rappler’s license to operate. This has also been the basis of SEC’s order to investigate on Rappler’s Philippine Depository Receipts (PDR) for further proofs.
What is a PDR even? A PDR is an investment in a local company where the holder has the right to earn without having an equity stake.
The first time I heard about this issue, I’m in favor of the idea of giving Rappler a chance to prove themselves and that they didn’t violate any law as to what SEC is accusing them of. I was also further in favor of Rappler when the breaking news appeared saying that Rappler’s license to operate gets revoked by the SEC after this unexpected investigation. As an initial reaction, I thought “Why aren’t there any warning? Why did they just jump into the worst punishment of closing and revocation of license instead of giving a warning?”
I was on Rappler’s side for a moment but after reading more articles and seeing the way they respond to this issue, I started to change my mind.
